We are thrilled to announce that Autoenhance.ai is officially available on the Pixlmob platform!
To celebrate this milestone, our Founder, Jamie McInally, and Head of Growth, Josh Mais, recently traveled to Greenville to be the first‑ever in‑person guests on the Prop Media Podcast. Sitting down with Pixlmob co‑founders Moses Nickerson and Matty Fisher, they covered everything from our official launch on their marketplace to the broader evolution of AI‑driven photo editing.
(Fun fact for Pixlmob users: if you’ve been using their “Omni” AI editing model since last August, you’ve actually been using Autoenhance.ai! We are excited to officially step out from behind the mask and let the Autoenhance brand shine directly on the platform.)
Beyond the big announcement, Jamie and Josh dove deep into the realities of the AI landscape, avoiding burnout, and why our core philosophy is about efficiency, not altering reality. Here are the key takeaways from the episode.
From 2020 to Cracking the US Market
When Autoenhance.ai started back in 2020, building a tool that could effectively edit real estate photos with AI was no small feat. While the early versions helped the company scale rapidly in the UK market, the US market presented a completely different set of challenges.
American real estate photography demands perfection—specifically perfect white balance, window pulls, and punchy colors. It took 18 months of rigorous training and refining to reach version five, which finally met the high standards of the American market. Today, hitting that bar means delivering a product that users can trust at scale.
The AI Adoption Curve and Amplification
We are currently watching the real estate media industry move past the "early adopter" phase and into mainstream integration. While AI adoption for photo editing was sitting at roughly 5% last year, it is now rapidly climbing to an estimated 20% to 30%.
With this surge in adoption comes a very real conversation about burnout. It can be tempting to use AI to simply squeeze 10 hours of work into an eight‑hour day and endlessly scale shoot volume. However, as Jamie pointed out, AI should act as an "amplification" tool.
The most rewarding feedback we receive at Autoenhance.ai isn't just about faster turnaround times; it's from users who tell us that AI has allowed them to process more images while actually getting time back to spend with their families or focus on scaling their business.
Real Estate Media Must Reflect Reality
In the era of generative AI, there is a natural cap on what AI should do creatively within our space. As Josh noted during the interview, real estate media has to represent reality. The goal of a real estate photo is to capture what the human eye actually sees.
We use workflows like HDR because a single camera frame cannot capture that full dynamic range. At Autoenhance.ai, our tools are not designed to manufacture a fake reality. Instead, they are built to help photographers and editors close that gap efficiently and accurately, ensuring the final image is true‑to‑life.
What’s Next for Autoenhance.ai
We are constantly pushing the boundaries of what our AI can do, and we have some major updates right around the corner. Coming in Q1, we are rolling out new capabilities that will give users even more granular control and customization over their images. This will allow for that essential personal touch, helping you dial in the exact look and brand consistency you need.
We have a lot more planned down the line, but for now, we want to extend a huge thank you to the Pixlmob team for having us in the studio.
